What's On My Christmas Wishlist

Happy 1st December lovelies!
I've been bitten by the festive bug pretty early this year and have had my Christmas tree up for over a week now! I'm looking forward to drinking all the gingerbread lattes, watching my favourite
Christmas films and baking some festive sweet treats in the coming weeks.
Here is what's on my wishlist this Christmas...

Origins 'High Potency Night-A-Mins' Night Cream

I've been on the hunt for a new night cream and after reading some reviews for this Origins renewal night cream, it's been added to the wishlist! It helps combat dull and tired skin and leaves a healthy and glowing complexion the morning after use- enriched with C, H and E, which help resurface and replenish the skin, not too mention the scent helps aid sleep. Sounds like a
dream!

Georgio Armani 'Si' Eau de Parfum

After smelling this on my mum a couple
of months ago, I fell in love with this fragrance! It is a wonderfully warm scent with top notes of manderin oil & cassis, heart notes of neroli & jasmine and base notes of patchouli & vanilla.

Tarte 'Tartelette' Amazionian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette

I most definitely don't need another eyeshadow palette but this one is too dreamy! All the shades are matte and colours that are versatile that they can be used in a daytime or evening look.

Welcome To Night Vale: A Novel

I have been an avid listener of the Welcome to Night Vale podcasts for a couple of months now and have been loving the series! It's based on a fictional town 'Night Vale' where a lot of mysterious and down right strange things happen, all told through their local radio stations host. I think I would enjoy reading this book if it's anything like the bizarre tales that are told in the podcast. A definate must listen too if you are a fan of horror paradies!

Yankee Candles
Okay, nothing too surprising that candles
have made it onto my Christmas wishlist! A few scents that i'd like are Vanilla Satin, Fireside Treat and Toasted Marshmallow...yum!

Skincare Wishlist

I have been using the same skincare routine for the past few months and want to pick up some new additions. Here are a few items that are currently on my wishlist.

Kiehls- Creamy Eye Treatment with avocado
This is a rich and creamy eye cream that soothes and moisturises with it's main ingredient avocado, vitamin A and fatty acids. It helps protect against external aggressors, which will be great for the coming colder months! It's also a great base for makeup and sinks in quickly, which is something I look for in an eye cream.

Fresh- Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask
This is a hydrating treatment that leaves your skin softer, firmer and healthier. With advanced antioxidants, black tea ferment, it helps defend against wrinkle causing free radicals.

Sunday Riley- Luna Sleeping Night Oil
This has become a bit of a cult product depsite it's unusual and strange blue colour... It is a retinoid oil that helpa reduce pore size, improve appearance of damages skin and helps fight wrinkles. It contains cold pressed avocado, chia, concord grape seed oil. You apply this before bed and it works while you sleep, leaving your skin more radiant in the morning. Sounds great!

Nip + Fab- Glycolic Fix Serum
A serum that contains 4% glycolic acid which helps smooth appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps reduce the appearance of pores for more refined and even looking complexion. It also has the extra ingredient of aloe vera which will help soothe tired skin.

Pixi- Glow Tonic
Another cult product! This is an exfoliating facial toner. It helps to tone, firm and tighten skin and due to it's exoliating properties remove dead skin cells. It helps boost the skins radiance leaving your skin glowing.

August Book Wishlist

How To Build A Girl by Caitlin Moran
I recently finished reading How to be a Woman by Caitlin last month and really enjoyed her style of writing, humourous while still discussing serious topics in modern feminism. I'm interested in reading some of her other works and this is next on the list! How To Build A Girl seems to be quite similar in theme to How to be a Woman but instead of Caitlin recalling her personal teenage years it is through a fictional character. Will be picking this up soon!

The First Bad Man A Novel by Miranda July
It seems everyone and their dog has this book! It has been all over Instagram, wondering what all the fuss was about I looked into what this book is actually about and thought it was something I would actually read, hooray! Miranda July is an artist, filmmaker and writer and has successfully published short stories in the past. After reading some mixed reviews on The First Bad Man, some claiming it to be strange and some stating it is something that is completely new to the book world, I was sold. I love strange!

The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf
This has been on my Amazon wishlist for months and I hope to eventually get around to buying it this month! This book discusses the culture around beauty and the role it plays in todays society, how the media can play a big role in pressuring both sexes into looking what they deem as 'acceptable'. The Beauty Myth has been reviewed by the New York Times as "Powerful... No other work has...so honestly depicted the confusion of accomplished women who feel emotionally and physically tortured by the need to look like movie stars"
I am excited to read this.

The Human by Matt Haig
Something of a lighter read is work of fiction by Matt Haig. This tells the story of a nameless alien who takes over the body of a mathematician who's discovered something the alien civilisation doesn't believe the people of Earth can yet handle. So he comes to Earth with the mission to destroy the evidence of the discovery and to kill everyone who knows about it. There is romance and an insight to the quirks of human nature along the way. Sounds good to me!

The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli
This book is a bit of an educational, light read in something that I am interested in learning more about: cognitive science theories. Dobelli translates them into understandable terms and illustrates various biases that govern human actions and everyday behaviour. I would love to learn more about how we think and reason in day to day life.

What's on your reading list this month?
